COLUMBIA, Ky. – John-Paul Williamson raced to a first-place finish and the Lindsey Wilson men's cross country team finished fourth-of-eight at the Mid-South Conference Cross Country Championships in Bowling Green, Ky. on Saturday.

Williamson out-kicked Brett Pierce of Campbellsville (Ky.) in the last 200 meters to cross the line first with a time of 25:43.5 to secure the win over Pierce, who finished in 25:44:5. With the win, Williamson is the MSC Runner of the Year for the first time, and earns first-team all conference honors for the third-straight year. Williamson, who is now tied with David Mutuse for the all-time lead in career wins at Lindsey Wilson with six, also earned an automatic qualifier to the NAIA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 21 in Charlotte, N.C.
