Sophomore Elisha Overpeck traveled cross country to compete in her second national cross country meet. The Elsmore native ran a 19 minute 39 second 5k to finish 128th. She ran a 19:55 for 183rd a season ago.

"I'm just really proud of Elisha," said Tiger women's cross country coach Betsy Laski. "We had to travel all the way to Vancouver, Washington. Last year she had three male teammates to sort of help her prepare and this year it was just her and I out there.

"She had a slip late, but she got right back up and crossed the line in a faster time than a season ago. That is really all I can ask for is to see her improving. Every course is different and every race has its own unique challenges, but as we go to these events as long as I can see progress we are doing the right things."
