Georgetown College men's and women's track team were fast out of the blocks this season. The Tiger teams opened at the Berea Invitational with Top 3 finishes.

The women brought home the top prize, scoring 229.50 points. The next closest was host Berea with 138.50. Lindsey Wilson was third with 115. St. Catharine was the only other Mid-South Conference team at the meet and finished fourth with 69 points.

The men finished third (145) behind Berea (260) and LWC (156). SCC came in fifth with 33.50 points.

Georgetown College men finished just a fraction of a point from fourth and were within four points of third at the Mid-South Conference Championships this past weekend.

It was a huge leap forward for the men, finishing seventh a year ago and only tallying 45.5 points against the league foes. This year the Tigers tallied 122.5 points just behind Shawnee State University's fourth place finish of 123 and University of Rio Grande edged them out by 3.5 points for third.

"We competed well today and had opportunities," said GC Todd McDaniel. "This program is getting stronger, and I couldn't be more proud of the accomplishment today."
