Keith Arutoff chiseled out a new meet record at the Mid-South Conference Championship this past weekend, defending his own title and making sure Georgetown College is the only place to win the male hammer throw since it became an event in 2010.

The two-time winner eradicated the meet standard he set a season ago with a 45.53 toss, setting a new GC record as well. His 2011 conference throw was 40.81. Earlier this season he threw a 41.16 at the meet in Hanover, IN.

Obliterating a record is not uncommon for the junior. He was throwing 41.45 during his sophomore season in discus, but the second meet this year he threw a 45.49.
